I’ve seen this one too.  A great car considering it was 1951

The BMW 328 is not only gorgeous and rare but it exhibited heady technology for its time. Fewer than five hundred were made and it featured an advanced tube frame chassis, independent front suspension and a 2.0-liter, inline-6, which produced 80 horsepower. It weighed just 1830 pounds so could top 100 mph.

The world’s first flying car has been put on the market. Built in 1934 by Frank Skroback, it is a collectors dream.
Historically, whenever people have tried to guess how we will travel in the future, some kind of hybrid vehicle is imagined that can flit between land and air. This was the very first model.
It’s being auctioned this weekend in Atlanta along with extensive documentation, including the 1921 patent on the design and correspondence demonstrating Skroback’s attempt to sell it.
It’s 21 foot long and seven foot wide, but sadly no records show that it ever managed to fly.

Not a car, but is definately “overengineered”!  I made this from scratch for my 3 grandkids.  Photo by Bob Dinkins.

I'm just a car nut located in the midwest. I take lots of car pictures. Most of these are my own photos, but occasionally I'll post a car or some other item that just like.

Feel free to leave any comments.
